Lead screws and ball screws both translate rotational motion (e.g. from a motor or handwheel) into linear motion. Lead screws and ball screws are subtely different - lead screws are generally thought of as cheaper and lower accuracy, whereas ball screws are more energy efficient (due to recirculating balls in the nut) although can be quite noisy. However, lead screws can perform better than ball screws in 'dirty' environments, where dust or debris is around, and we also supply special high precision lead screws, which are manufactured to closer tolerances than standard commercial lead screws.
